Word formation
The suffix -er is used as a noun suffix to name someone who does a job or an action, for example, trumpeter.
The general rule consists of adding -er at the end of a noun or verb, for example, trumpet = trumpeter and sing = singer.
For the words ended e, only the r is added, for example, write = writer
In some cases a letter needs to be double plus adding -er, for example, drums = drummer
